The attendees at the ACORD Users Group Information Exchange meeting in February were more active than ever! They didn't just sit back and watch presenters, the attendees were encouraged to participate. They even were "multi-tasking" while presenters gave overviews on what the "AUGIE Ambassadors" need to do!

Several of them completed the AUGIE Ambassador Form. thus officially becoming an AUGIE Ambassador - an individual who exchanges information with their constituents, social networks or during presentations to help bring our message out to the masses. Anyone wanting to help spread the word can become an AUGIE Ambassador!

With over 120 people attending this meeting, there were conversations ranging from four- plus feet of snow in Boston to what the industry needs to do to empower the independent agents.

On the second day, the group learned about a new task group that will be working towards more consistent definitions and defined use for ACORD's Activity Notifications. As ACORD updates the data standards, they are providing message specifications and documentation to help the industry implement the standards in a standard way. Activity notes are a secure and managed alternative to email, mail and faxes. They allows agents to receive information directly into the management system and attach it directly to the client or the policy.

The final exercise for the group was to break into sections and come up with information that can be used to enhance the Ambassador talking points. AUGIE has expanded the "three-legged" stool to include a fourth leg, the associations, user groups, IIABA and PIA.

To ensure that we have the right kind of materials for the right audience, we'll be developing presentations and articles for each leg of the stool. It was interesting to hear how each group representing a leg of the stool would talk to their target audience.
