ACORD released the third-quarter update for the Global Insurance Stock Index, which tracks the performance of the world’s largest publicly traded insurance carriers, spanning the life and non-life sectors.
The 2023 third-quarter update found strong performance among insurers, solidly outperforming the global equity market. The combination of equity returns and higher interest rates, along with positive underwriting fundamentals, provided global insurers with a tailwind against increased claims costs and natural catastrophe losses.
