The Value of Participation

Volunteers created ACORD in 1970, and they continue to be vital to its success. As a participant in the ACORD community, you help to shape the development and implementation of ACORD Standards, make the insurance marketplace more efficient for your organization and its partners, and drive change in the industry. The time you spend as an ACORD volunteer brings you personal recognition and networking opportunities while you gain skills and insights which benefit your organization.

Standards Development

The ACORD Standards Committee and all of ACORD's Implementation Communities are chaired and staffed entirely by volunteers. As a participant, you will gather input from within your organization, confer with industry peers on conference calls and in-person meetings, represent your organization on standards development issues, and shape the direction of insurance industry standards.

Events & Webinars

ACORD hosts multiple large and small events globally every year. Volunteers work with ACORD staff to propose sessions, plan programs, and host events. As a speaker or webinar presenter, you have the opportunity to reach an audience from across the full spectrum of the insurance industry, and benefit from their thought leadership in return.
