ACORD Certified Expert (ACE)

ACE_BadgeThe ACORD Certified Expert (ACE) is a technical designation that demonstrates expertise in ACORD Standards implementation.

If you work with, or are planning to work with, ACORD implementation projects, becoming an ACE is your way to elevate your ACORD Standards expertise to the next level. The ACE designation certifies you as part of an elite group with a unique skill set.

ACE designees are typically people who are actively implementing or planning to implement ACORD Standards within their organizations, or solution providers developing systems intended to be ACORD-compliant. Job functions of candidates include, but are not limited to:

  • Software Developers / Programmers
  • Information Architects
  • System Designers / System Architects
  • Database Managers
  • Data Modelers
  • Data Analysts
  • Business Analysts
  • Program Managers

To receive the ACE designation, applicants must fulfill the prerequisites, apply for certification, and pass the ACE exam.

How Do I Apply to Become an ACE?

Prerequisites

  • Demonstrate proof of having fulfilled the Industry Knowledge Requirement.
  • Possess at least one year of experience working with at least one of the ACORD Standards.

Application

  • If you haven't already, make sure to register for a free account on acord.org.
  • Email memberservices@acord.org to request your free copy of the ACE Candidate Information Bulletin.
  • Read and fully familiarize yourself with all of the details and policies contained in the Candidate Information Bulletin. It details all of the required next steps for completing the ACE certification.
  • You will find the ACE Application at the end of the Candidate Information Bulletin.​ Complete the ACE Application and email it to memberservices@acord.org.​​​​​​​​ ​

Exam

  • Be sure to study any applicable ACORD Standards Training Materials, which are available free of charge to all ACORD member organizations. If your organization is not a member, you can purchase training materials through ACORD Member Services.
  • Information about scheduling the ACE exam is included in the Candidate Information Bulletin.

ACE Professional Development

Continuing Education

In order to maintain your designation as an ACORD Certified Expert, you must earn a minimum of 8 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits per calendar year. This is achieved through a combination of webinars, educational opportunities, ACE program support involvement, event attendance, standards development communities, and special projects.

Annual Recertification

Current ACEs must submit their completed CPD form no later than January 31st for the prior calendar year. (Please note that any Standards Year in Review webinars held in January will only count for the preceding year.) Upon both completion of your CPD credits, you will be issued your updated ACE digital credential.
