ACORD Standards Committee

The ACORD Standards Committee is the senior governance body managing the ACORD Standards Development Process insuring our compliance as an effective Standards Development Organization. The ASC defines standards to be developed, Standards Programs to manage these standards, and provides organizational strategy setting for ACORDs global standards efforts, insuring representation of all communities of standards users.​​​​​

    The ACORD AU GI Program was established in 2011 to provide insurance process, messaging and data standards for the Australian General Insurance marketplace (aka Property & Casualty). The scope of the standards includes all general insurance products including such lines of business as personal and commercial motor, professional indemnity, business package, etc. It focuses on the entire insurance business process (quote, bind, issue and close). The standard also focuses on in-force policy activity and through to claim management. It involves all constituencies in the general insurance community including agents & brokers, distributors, insurers, service providers, software providers, and regulators.

  • Australia/New Zealand Life Steering Committee

    The Australia Life Insurance market had been discussing the use of standards for several years, closely following the developments of the ACORD General Insurance Standards efforts. Several exploratory meetings have been held to assess both needs and interest with a finding that there is indeed interest and commitment to the development of life standards for Australia. A fairly extensive list of immediate as well as long term needs have been identified, more than enough to support a Program.
