ACORD Releases Updates to Reference Architecture

ACORD recently released updates to the three data-related facets of the ACORD Reference Architecture. The latest revisions will continue to help organizations run, develop, modify, and maintain various insurance industry applications.

Enhancements have been made to the following facets:

  • Business Glossary Version 2.8 has 581 new insurance terms and definitions, bringing the collection of standardized, non-technical terms to a total of 5,932.
  • Information Model Version 2.8 has been updated to include additional terms and definitions across all insurance concepts – policy, product, party, claims, and the relationships between them.
  • Data Model Version 2.8 now includes definitions of several hundred logical entities and data values throughout its 17 subject areas.

The new terms and definitions are harmonized across all three models so that all consumers of the Reference Architecture, whether they are data modelers, enterprise architects, or business analysts, see a consistent view.

The new versions can be downloaded from the ACORD Reference Architecture page. For an in-depth case study of how the Data Model can be used, register now for the webinar There and Back Again: "Hobbit Insurance" Implements the ACORD Data Model on May 19th.
