ACORD's Property & Casualty Program develops and maintains standards for the personal, commercial, specialty and surety lines of business and supports a variety of needs within the PCS community, including: Accounting; Certificates of Insurance; Claims; Placement & Service (such as quote, new business, policy change).

Areas Covered

Commercial Lines of Business

Commercial lines includes: Auto, Aviation (Airport, Aircraft, Hanger, Package), Boiler & Machinery, Business Owners Policy, Crime, Director’s & Officers, Employment Practices Liability, Errors & Omissions, General Liability, Inland Marine, Package, Property Product Liability, Schedules, Specialty Lines, Umbrella/Excess, and Workers Compensation.

Personal Lines of Business

Personal Lines includes: Auto, Dwelling Fire, Homeowners, Inland Marine, Mobile Homeowners, Package, Umbrella, and Watercraft.

Surety

Surety standards include Surety Bonds.

PCS Standards

Forms

ACORD maintains a library containing hundreds of standardized forms to meet the diverse needs of the industry. ACORD forms are regularly reviewed to maintain compliance with local laws and regulations, and are filed with regulators on behalf of all ACORD members when applicable.

AL3

ACORD AL3 is a pre-XML electronic data interchange (EDI) standard (flat file/fixed record length) designed to enable data exchange among P&C insurers, their producers, and other trading partners. The standard’s scope involves support for policy download service.

XML

ACORD’s PCS XML v1.x addresses the real-time requirements associated with PCS business transactions using a client/server environment via request and response messages. ACORD XML for PCS provides an efficient way to transfer structured data between applications and partners.
