Reinsurance Specifications & Documentation - Public
ACORD EDI and XML standards have been developed for all parts of the reinsurance business cycle, from Placement through to Accounting, Claims and Settlement. The links below provide access to the latest release of the ACORD Reinsurance Standards, as well as an archive of earlier releases.

Attention: In addition to the files below, there are a variety of implementation guides and aids available only to ACORD Reinsurance Members who have registered with the ACORD website. These include:

  • Data dictionary (interactive dictionary with full data definitions, underlying data structure, mappings to XML and EDIFACT messages, etc)
  • Implementation guides (detailed guidance on how to implement the standards - these cover Submissions, Claims, Accounting)
  • Business example mappings (numerous real business examples, with mappings into both XML and EDIFACT messages)
