Standards
ACORD STANDARDS are created and maintained by insurance people, for insurance people.  It's our members who decide what new standards are needed, or where changes are required.  Our voting process makes sure that the standards evolve to meet the needs of the community. ACORD Standards serve as the foundation for data communication across the global insurance industry. From producers and insurers to reinsurers and other parties, ACORD standards enable companies to transact business more efficiently, effectively, and expediently.

 Life & Annuity

ACORD's Life & Annuity Standards Program develops and maintains standards (XML, Forms) for those business lines as well as for life reinsurance covering both individual and group lines. 

Property & Casualty

ACORD's Property & Casualty Standards Program develops and maintains standards (XML, AL3, Forms) for the personal, commercial, specialty and surety lines of business. 

Reinsurance

The ACORD Reinsurance program is designed for those companies currently engaged in property & casualty, surety, or life reinsurance business.
