The ACORD Annual Conference is a premier event for bringing together IT executives and professionals in the insurance and financial services industries. It provides a forum to directly reach and inform the decision-makers and leaders of the insurance and financial services community. ACORD is currently accepting submissions for the following:

Guidelines

ACORD invites you to send an outline of a proposed workshop or presentation under the following guidelines:

If you are a financial service, insurance or reinsurance organization and: 

  • Have developed a Business Strategy that is considering new business models, trading partners, distribution channels, and outsourcing. 

  • Have developed an IT strategy that enables the business and has standards as a foundation in the strategy 

  • Have successfully implemented ACORD Standards to meet business needs. 

  • Can demonstrate the value proposition for implementing standards for your business. 

  • Can show ROI achieved through standards implementation. 

  • Can share Best Practices regarding standards implementation. 

  • Can show how ACORD Standards help your organization achieve market reach cost-effectively. 

  • Can show how ACORD Standards help your organization penetrate new global markets cost-effectively. 

If you a solution provider (with a customer that will co-present) and have products and services that: 

  • Assist in ACORD Standards implementation. 

  • Use ACORD XML Standards to leverage legacy systems investment with new ebusiness solutions. 

  • Support the use of standards to meet different business models or business strategies of a company. 

  • Support web services or outsourcing of technology or business processes and use standards. 

If you have an implementation that uses ACORD Standards to support your business such as: 

  • Pending and Inforce business 

  • Replacement of business processes 

  • Reinsurance placement, claims, or billing for Life and P&C 

  • Risk Exposure Analysis or Submission 

  • Customer Billing 

  • Claims Processing for any of the lines of business 

  • Repositories and interoperability 

  • Implementations using ACORD and other standards 

  • Web Services solutions 

  • Global implementations 

  • Submission of business from multiple distribution channels 

  • Exchanges and Data Hubs 

  • Customer Relationship Management 

  • Commissions Processing and Reporting 

  • Licensing and Appointments 

  • Binding Authority 

  • Reporting e-signatures 

  • Enterprise business architecture 

  • Other financial services such as Banc Assurance and Broker/Dealers 

  • New Business submission

If you have implementations with ACORD standards that support any of these lines of business:

  • Life or Annuity for individual or group lines 

  • Non-medical Health such as Long Term Care or DI for individual or group lines 

  • Personal Lines 

  • Property and Casualty Commercial lines 

  • Property and Casualty Workers Compensation 

  • Surety 

  • Reinsurance for P&C or Life

Important: Please note that your workshop or presentation may not promote a particular product or service of a specific solution provider, distributor, carrier or reinsurer. All solution providers submitting a proposal must include a customer as an active participant in the presentation. As proposals are evaluated, priority will be given to ACORD members.

  
Speaker Benefits

ACORD Annual Conference 2003 provides a forum for you to reach the industry decision-makers and leaders of the insurance and financial services community. Your workshop will be promoted to more than 50,000 members of this community in a colorful brochure and on the ACORD conference website. Approved ACORD presenters will be offered free conference registration, providing admission to all workshops, general sessions, exhibits, receptions, and meal events. ACORD does not pay speaker fees, or reimburse for travel and accommodation expenses.
