In 2000 and 2001, ACORD expanded and deepened
its strategic alliances in the pursuit of standards-based,
straight-through processing. Through these relationships,
ACORD standards are being mapped and harmonized to other
industry and cross-industry standards implemented in various
countries and regions throughout the world. ACORD is recognized
as a leader in this global initiative.
ACORD's participation in global
cross-industry groups ensures standards interoperability
between industries. And joint initiatives and working
groups guarantee interoperability within the insurance
and financial services and also prevents duplication
of standard-setting efforts. ACORD's goal is to focus
progressively on each link in the insurance value chain
to respond to the industry's most pressing business needs.
